Pacific Biosciences seeks a Biochemistry Scientist to develop and manufacture recombinant proteins for sequencing platform commercialization. The role involves process development, protein production, quality control, and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute studies to develop and optimize protein manufacturing processes
- Execute protein production orders and reagent manufacturing activities meeting timelines
- Perform quality control testing and maintain compliance with quality standards
- Troubleshoot production issues and develop corrective solutions
- Conduct process development, technology transfer, and documentation for manufacturing procedures
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years life sciences industry experience
- At least 3 years recombinant protein production experience, preferably DNA polymerases
- Proficiency with affinity chromatography, IEX, HIC, SEC, and AKTA systems
- Expertise in protein characterization methods: HPLC, enzyme kinetics, SDS-PAGE, spectrophotometry
- Experience with formulation, filtration techniques including TFF
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; current US work authorization required
Compensation: $97,400.00 - $168,000.00
