Lead Software Engineer - Platforms

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• We need practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We are looking for advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, specifically Java and React.
• We need frontend expertise in building UI applications.
• We require experience with RESTful API design, data-driven design, microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
• We need experience with messaging platforms and stream data processing, including Kafka.
• We value demonstrated leadership in using approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations, along with experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• We require proficiency across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• We need practical cloud-native experience with AWS.
• We need knowledge of containerization and container runtime or orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.

• We execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, and we solve problems beyond routine approaches.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and promoting reusable patterns.
• We apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• We identify opportunities to remove or automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability across software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
