Overview
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department travel assignment in Sonora, California. This 13-week contract starts on 08/03/2026, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week and a night-shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). The role is based in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting, providing specialized ED nursing care to a diverse patient population. This is a travel - temporary assignment managed through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care in the Emergency Department for an individual patient or patient group, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Collect and analyze relevant clinical data, develop and implement a care plan, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitor responses, and promptly address changing patient conditions.
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels, and participate in handoffs and discharge planning.
- Provide education to patients and families, deliver health information to the treatment team, and contribute to a safe, healing, and patient-centered environment.
- Document care accurately, maintain patient records, and engage in ongoing quality improvement activities.

Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR required; ACLS and PALS (American Heart Association or equivalent) required.
- Education: BSN preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent, acute care nursing experience; prior ED or acute care facility experience preferred.
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting, demonstrate critical thinking, clinical judgment, and effective collaboration with the care team; ability to meet the requirements of a night-shift travel assignment.
