Associate Attorney (St. Louis)

About the Role We're seeking an associate attorney to join our St. Louis practice group. This is a hands on role within a sophisticated and fast paced defense practice handling significant litigation matters for insurers, transportation companies, manufacturers, retailers, construction clients, and commercial businesses. The St. Louis office handles a diverse and active litigation docket that includes personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, trucking and transportation, premises liability, construction litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability, and complex commercial and class action matters. The team represents insurance carriers, corporations, municipalities, school districts, self insured entities, and national clients in both Missouri and Illinois courts, with regular appearances in state, federal, and appellate courts. Responsibilities Handle a diverse caseload including personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, construction, transportation, premises liability, coverage, and general liability matters Represent regional and national clients, including insurers, manufacturers, retailers, transportation carriers, contractors, and commercial businesses Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation Work directly with partners, clients, and carriers in an active, high expectation litigation environment Take ownership of assignments and manage files with sound judgment and attention to detail Contribute to a busy trial focused practice with meaningful responsibility from the start Qualifications Experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, construction, transportation, coverage, or related practice areas preferred Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast paced litigation practice Comfortable handling active files and working directly with clients and partners Preferred Experience Deposition and motion practice experience Experience with wrongful death, product liability, construction, transportation, or coverage litigation Courtroom, hearing, or trial preparation experience Background in defense litigation or high exposure civil matters Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience, background, and overall fit Bonus opportunities and full benefits package Meaningful responsibility and direct mentorship Opportunity to work on sophisticated, high stakes litigation within a well established and growing firm Equal Opportunity Statement Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr and Smith is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace. #J-18808-Ljbffr Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith
