Position Overview

As a Grill Cook , you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality grilled and made-to-order food while keeping your station organized, clean, and ready for service.

You'll work in a fast-paced environment where timing, accuracy, and consistency matter. You'll prepare multiple orders at once, interact with customers, and work closely with your culinary teammates to make sure every customer receives a great meal.

This is a hands-on culinary position for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in their work, and knows that a great meal starts with great preparation.

What You'll Do

Create Great Food

• Prepare and cook grilled and made-to-order menu items according to APEX recipes and standards
• Operate grills, flat tops, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely
• Monitor food while cooking to ensure proper temperature, doneness, and quality
• Maintain consistent portion sizes and presentation
• Prepare multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
• Work efficiently during busy meal periods
• Follow recipes and established cooking procedures

Deliver Great Customer Service

• Provide friendly and professional service to customers
• Take and execute customer orders accurately
• Communicate clearly with customers and team members
• Answer basic questions about menu items when appropriate
• Prepare orders in a timely manner
• Create a positive and welcoming dining experience

Keep Your Station Ready

• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked grill station
• Complete food preparation and replenishment throughout the shift
• Keep ingredients organized and properly stored
• Follow “clean as you go” practices
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work surfaces
• Complete closing and cleaning responsibilities as assigned

Follow Food Safety Standards

• Follow all APEX food safety and sanitation procedures
• Properly handle, prepare, cook, and store food
• Monitor food temperatures
• Prevent cross-contamination
• Follow proper personal hygiene and sanitation practices
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
• Report food safety or equipment concerns to management

Be Part of the Team

• Work closely with chefs, cooks, managers, and other team members
• Communicate effectively during busy service periods
• Assist teammates when needed
• Cross-train at other culinary stations
• Step in wherever you're needed to help the operation succeed

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is an active, hands-on culinary position in a busy kitchen environment.

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and lift as needed
• Ability to safely handle knives and other kitchen equipment
• Comfortable working around grills, fryers, heat, steam, and varying temperatures
• Ability to maintain a steady pace during busy service periods
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
