INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICAL SUPPORT ANALYST II / EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT HOMELESSNESS

Overview The Department of Mental Health is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Information Technology Technical Support Analyst II vacancies related to the homelessness crisis. Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment. During the initial work period employees will be evaluated on performance; successful candidates will be considered for permanent appointment. Responsibilities Installs, configures, maintains and tests computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment. Acts as a technical resource to end users and other IT staff, troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving moderately complex hardware, software and network connectivity problems. Identifies trends in reported problem calls and implements improvements. Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding user support needs and customer satisfaction. Reviews, tests and finalizes user instructions and procedures; conducts formal and informal end‑user training and develops orientation materials as needed. Leads small hardware and software installation and upgrade projects and participates in larger, complex projects with general direction. Assists in defining and recommending appropriate hardware and software configurations, developing specifications for purchasing new equipment, and configuring software distribution tools. Coordinates equipment delivery, software licensing compliance and inventory/asset control. Provides lead support to other technical staff as required. Qualifications One (1) year of experience at the level of an IT Technical Support Analyst I*; or Two (2) years of experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing client computing devices or software in a centralized Information Technology organization. * IT Technical Support Analyst I is defined as an individual who, under close supervision, provides a full range of technical support services in IT, including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware, software, networking, and applications. Licensing and Physical Requirements A valid California Class C Driver License or the use of an alternative transportation method when required to perform job‑related essential functions. Physical Class III – Moderate: The incumbent must stand or walk most of the time, bend, stoop, squat, twist, reach, work on irregular surfaces, occasionally lift objects over 25 pounds, and frequently lift 10‑25 pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr County-of-Los-Angeles
