Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense

Hybrid Schedule Salary: $130,000 - $185,000 per year Position Overview We are a boutique insurance defense firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. Our practice spans casualty, professional liability, commercial, and coverage disputes, requiring precision, efficiency, and sound legal judgment. Associates work directly with senior attorneys from day one, handling depositions, motion practice, and client interaction early in their careers. Job Details We are actively seeking a dynamic Litigation Attorney for our litigation team. The role involves handling a wide variety of complex legal matters from inception to appeal, demanding initiative, creativity, and strategic thinking. Responsibilities Represent clients in all stages of litigation, including fact investigation, legal research, drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and presenting arguments in court. Conduct depositions of parties and witnesses, interviewing witnesses, experts, and other parties. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, using strong negotiation skills and understanding client interests. Develop litigation strategies and make recommendations to clients based on thorough analysis. Provide legal advice to clients and keep them informed about case status. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure best representation. Qualifications A Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar and in good standing. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing litigation attorney in insurance defense litigation or related practice area. Proven experience in conducting depositions and managing own caseload from inception to trial. Exceptional litigation skills, including excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Track record of effectively managing a caseload. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, ability to think strategically and creatively. High degree of professionalism and adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
