Lead Applied Research Scientist – Finance Company and Position Siemens Industry Software Inc. Internal Services Lead Applied Research Scientist – Finance (Multiple Positions) Job Type: Full Time Salary and Compensation Salary range (Plano, TX): $109,800 - $197,700 per year. Additional incentive compensation may be earned. Responsibilities Utilize advanced expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, and finance to develop impactful solutions for financial and industrial domains. Collaborate with senior business and engineering leaders to identify, validate and implement AI‑driven initiatives accelerating digital transformation and delivering measurable business value worldwide. Partner with finance, risk, compliance, and industry solution teams to prioritize AI initiatives across the company and its global customers. Translate complex business, compliance, and operational challenges into actionable AI/LLM research projects and prototypes, leveraging the company’s Xcelerator portfolio as appropriate. Architect, develop, and deliver scalable AI/ML solutions. Lead fine‑tuning and domain adaptation of foundational models (e.g., GPT, Gemini, Llama) for finance and industrial applications. Collaborate with engineering, product and executive teams to develop AI strategy and establish robust go‑to‑market plans for innovative LLM‑powered offerings. Continuously monitor AI/LLM research trends and emerging technologies to sustain industry leadership. Mentor, manage, and upskill data science colleagues, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of innovation. Telecommuting from a commutable distance is acceptable per company policy. ( Hybrid role ) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field and 48 months experience in data science or related occupation. Machine learning or data science experience. At least 2 years’ experience with large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Transformer Architectures, and Generative AI within the finance industry. Experience delivering AI/ML solutions to large‑scale business and finance challenges in enterprise, finance, or industrial settings. Proficiency with Python, SQL, and leading ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, and LangChain; experience with Azure, AWS, or Snowflake. Experience with MLOps, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
