Senior Tax Accountant

5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support federal, state, provincial, and local tax filings across multiple entities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment and has a strong command of payroll, property, and sales/use tax compliance. Key Responsibilities: Ensure timely, accurate preparation and filing of tax returns , including payroll, property, sales & use, and income taxes across applicable jurisdictions Calculate and remit tax payments in accordance with federal, state, provincial, and local deadlines Assist in business license applications , tax registrations , and maintenance of compliance for new and existing jurisdictions Handle personal and real property tax renditions and notices Reconcile discrepancies in tax filings, resolve issues with jurisdictions, and provide documentation for audits Communicate with tax authorities to resolve notices, penalties, or procedural issues Stay current with tax legislation and ensure organizational compliance Support external auditors and tax consultants with documentation and inquiries Act as a resource to prior business owners during post-acquisition tax matters Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned What We’re Looking For: 3+ years of tax experience , particularly in payroll, property, and sales tax At least 1 year of payroll tax filing experience in a service or SAAS environment (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, UKG Ultipro) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent experience) Knowledge of multi-entity and multi-state tax filings and reconciliation Comfortable setting up new tax accounts across jurisdictions Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deadlines Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Accounting/Auditing Industries Consumer Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at BGSF by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid maternity leave Student loan assistance Tuition assistance Paid paternity leave Get notified about new Tax Accountant jobs in Houston, TX .
