Lead Software Engineer - Network Infrastructure

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We look for formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of practical experience.
• We need proven experience in network infrastructure development and networking engineering.
• We expect hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We require strong software development skills in Python, Go, JavaScript, Rust, and shell scripting for network automation and infrastructure management, plus experience leading Agile delivery with cross-functional teams.
• We need deep knowledge of networking protocols and datacenter technologies such as BGP, VRF, MPLS, IP, TCP, and UDP, along with cloud networking experience in VPC, CNI, hybrid connectivity, and VMware NSX-T.
• We expect experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Kubernetes-based container orchestration, containerized network functions, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• We value demonstrated leadership in using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with clear standards for validating outputs for accuracy, performance, and security.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilient, secure delivery practices.
• We look for exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, including the ability to break down complex infrastructure issues, perform root-cause analysis, debug distributed systems, and anticipate downstream impacts.
• We prefer experience with network visibility and analytics tools, virtualization platforms such as Cisco ACI, Calico, OVN, and Cilium, policy-as-code, network security automation, and zero-trust architecture.
• We prefer industry-recognized networking certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
• We value experience using AI-powered development tools and specification-driven development methods to improve delivery speed and code quality.

• We lead the development, implementation, and delivery of software-defined networking solutions for software-defined datacenters, ensuring schedules, technical needs, and performance standards are met.
• We design, build, and implement network automation solutions and infrastructure management platforms using Python, Go, JavaScript, and modern web technologies to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
• We architect and deploy SDN and network orchestration solutions across multi-cloud environments, integrating monitoring frameworks with existing tools to strengthen reliability.
• We develop and maintain automation frameworks, APIs, and tooling that connect with network devices, controllers, and monitoring systems, while producing clean infrastructure-as-code that follows coding standards.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, supported by secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
• We apply SDLC tooling, including authorized AI-assisted automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes through sound technical decisions.
• We collaborate with network architects, security teams, product owners, and infrastructure engineers in an Agile scrum setting, including code reviews and troubleshooting to meet reliability and performance goals.
• We mentor junior engineers on network automation and infrastructure-as-code principles while evaluating emerging SDN technologies, AI-enabled automation, and DevOps approaches.
