Accounting Specialist

ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - Champlain, NY

The Account Specialist handles general accounting functions including accounts payable, account receivable, general ledger, weekly budgeting, and assists in monthly closing procedures. Also customer service responsibilities within the distribution center. The position reports to the General Manager.

• Prepares weekly operating budgets/projections;
• Analyzes and reconciles accounts;
• Provides assistance on the monthly close;
• Prepares reports for the management team;
• Enters journal entries, coordinates A/P, A/R and G/L;
• Answers emails and phone calls that are not limited to small parcel quot3es for customer service, questions from customers, A/R details/questions, and invoice requests;
• Responsible for billing customer accounts;
• Ensuring customer rate increases are initiated and maintained;
• Other administrative tasks as directed by the local management team specific to the facility's needs.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma;
• 1 year or more experience in office accounting;
• Computer applications using MS office, to include Excel;
• Attention to detail;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Strong communications skills both verbal and written.
