Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist / LVN/LPN performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. This role involves preparing patients' skin for surgery, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing comfort and support to pre-operative patients while demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-operative and intra-operative care under the direction of a professional nurse.
• Maintain the sterile field and pass instruments to the physician as required.
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies based on the type of case.
• Cooperate in team planning and execution, effectively contributing as a member of the healthcare team.
• Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions and maintain a safe environment by implementing aseptic practices.
• Monitor and control the surgical environment, ensuring adherence to sanitation policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care responsibilities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• 2 or more years of experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification within 180 days of graduation, or LVN/LPN License required.
