Senior Production Planner / Production Control Specialist

A growing manufacturer of complex electronic and electro-mechanical products is seeking a Senior Production Planner / Production Control Specialist to oversee planning, scheduling, material coordination, and production execution across multiple programs. This role is critical to ensuring on-time delivery through effective management of manufacturing schedules, material availability, and cross-functional communication.
Position Overview

The Senior Production Planner will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules, coordinating material flow, monitoring project milestones, and supporting manufacturing operations from order release through final shipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MRP/ERP-driven manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of electronic or electro-mechanical production processes.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing schedules to meet program and customer delivery requirements.
  
• Create manufacturing orders and purchase requisitions through MRP systems.
  
• Track purchased materials and monitor inventory availability for assigned programs.
  
• Identify critical components, bottlenecks, and schedule risks that may impact delivery commitments.
  
• Coordinate material flow and production activities across manufacturing, test, quality, and supply chain teams.
  
• Monitor work-in-process (WIP) and provide status updates on production progress and material readiness.
  
• Release production kits, travelers, operation sheets, and supporting documentation to the factory floor.
  
• Lead schedule review meetings with Program Management, Production, Quality, and Test personnel.
  
• Proactively resolve material shortages, production issues, and schedule constraints.
  
• Expedite materials, assemblies, and internal work orders to maintain production timelines.
  
• Process engineering change notices (ECNs) and ensure work-in-process reflects current revisions.
  
• Maintain accurate inventory, production, and material tracking records within ERP systems.
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  
• 6+ years of production planning, production control, or manufacturing scheduling experience.
  
• Experience within an electronic, RF, or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  
• Strong MRP/ERP systems experience with the ability to manage complex manufacturing schedules.
  
• Experience coordinating material requirements, purchase orders, inventory, and production workflows.
  
• Solid understanding of bills of material (BOMs), work orders, receiving processes, and production documentation.
  
• Knowledge of materials, components, tools, and manufacturing processes used in electronic and electro-mechanical products.
  
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP business systems.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting RF, communications, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing programs.
  
• Familiarity with Costpoint or similar enterprise planning systems.
  
• Experience managing complex, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments.
  
• Strong understanding of engineering change control and configuration management processes.

In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements, the anticipated annual base salary range for positions is: $95k-$125k annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership background.
