Work Environment\n

This full-time position (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) is primarily remote, with occasional evening shifts based on patient demands. Our outpatient facility is designed to support a comfortable and secure therapeutic experience for clients, allowing counselors to provide care from the convenience of their own home while having access to supportive office resources whenever needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments tailored to the distinct requirements of older adults, identifying emotional, cognitive, and physical health concerns that may affect their well-being.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate considerations of patients' cognitive changes, physical limitations, and social circumstances, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family counseling, to address a variety of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate on a regular basis with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to provide seamless and comprehensive care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, swiftly assessing situations and effectively addressing immediate needs of elderly clients.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, treatment alternatives, and resources available in the community, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their care.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy and clarity in documentation for effective treatment planning.

• Engage in regular team meetings and professional development activities to promote ongoing learning and robust case consultation.

• Stay updated on advancements in geriatric psychiatry and best practices through continuous education.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers around the geriatric population, addressing a range of mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties. With experience in treating elderly individuals, you will play an instrumental role in improving their mental health outcomes and supporting their families through the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Illinois.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience working with older adults preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders, including effective evidence-based treatment modalities and their application.

• Expertise in providing individual and family therapy services specifically tailored to the elderly demographic.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering a patient-centered and empathetic demeanor.

• Skillful in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and proficient with various healthcare applications.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience in geriatric mental health, specifically the delivery of therapeutic interventions and familiarity with community resources for elderly clients. Compensation and Benefits\n

Bridgeway Mental Healthcare offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 104,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
