Construction estimator

Randstad is partnering with a premier, growth-oriented commercial construction firm in the Louisville area to identify a talented and detail-oriented Construction Estimator.

In this role, you will be the architectural financial anchor for upcoming projects, transforming blueprints into precise, competitive, and highly accurate cost projections. You will collaborate directly with project managers, executives, and subcontractors to ensure bids are won, budgets are optimized, and project risks are minimized. Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed, line-item cost estimates, budget projections, and comprehensive take-offs for large-scale commercial, industrial, or multi-family construction projects.
• Blueprint & Document Analysis: Review and interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, engineering specifications, and RFP documents to understand the full scope of work and identify potential design gaps or risks.
• Subcontractor & Vendor Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local Louisville sub-trades and suppliers. Solicit, review, and negotiate competitive bids to ensure full scope coverage and optimal pricing.
• Material & Labor Quantification: Calculate accurate quantities of raw materials, equipment requirements, labor hours, and production timelines needed for successful project execution.
• Value Engineering: Identify innovative cost-saving alternatives and value-engineering opportunities that maintain structural integrity and client satisfaction while maximizing profit margins.
• Bid Submission & Hand-off: Package final estimates into polished, professional bid proposals for client review. Upon project award, lead the financial transition and hand-off meetings with the Project Management and Field Operations teams.
