Work Environment

As a remote worker based in Leesburg, Virginia, you will be an integral part of our school facility's multidisciplinary team. This position requires a commitment to collaborating with educators and specialists to deliver services that empower students with special needs. The usual work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends based on team needs. Some on-call availability may be required to ensure the mental health needs of our students are promptly addressed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate students' emotional and psychological well-being.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address unique mental health issues while promoting social integration within the school community.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to students with ASD, learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on emotional regulation, coping mechanisms, and personal development.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to provide holistic support for our students.
• Offer crisis intervention services and support during mental health emergencies, effectively managing crisis situations with empathy and expertise.
• Educate students and their families on mental health conditions and available resources by conducting informative workshops and individual sessions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation compliant with legal and ethical standards, using appropriate electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage in team meetings and case conferences, contributing to a collaborative approach to student care.
• Stay updated on the latest laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines relevant to social work practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on supporting students facing various challenges that hinder their educational and emotional development. You will work primarily with children and adolescents with special needs, ensuring they receive the mental health support needed for successful integration into their school environment. Your direct involvement will play a crucial role in enhancing their quality of life and educational experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid LCSW license in the state of Virginia.
• A thorough understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Proficient in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and formulating effective treatment plans.
• Experience delivering both individual and group therapy, utilizing various therapeutic techniques.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills, with the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to foster a supportive environment for students and families.
• Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and competence in using technology in clinical settings.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to function well within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

While two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with significant relevant experience in school settings or in special education will also be considered. A comprehensive understanding of special education laws and best practices is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
