Join Our Team as a L&D RN - Nights Job Description: - General Description: - Provide exceptional direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, and postpartum. - Ensure comprehensive maternal childcare while caring for newborns. - Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments and monitor labor processes. - Prepare for C-sections and inductions while documenting all nursing care accurately. - Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care and patient education. - Prepare the delivery room and offer emotional support to patients. - Coordinate transfers and administer IV medications. - Uphold infection control protocols and adhere to OB department policies. - Cultivate knowledge and/or interest in obstetrics and related equipment. - Accountability: - Directly report to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager. - Special Demands: - Physical stamina required for long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting. - Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases. - Qualifications: - Education: - RN graduate with current Colorado licensure. - Current CPR certification. - Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment. - Experience: - Minimum of 4 years of preferred experience in Obstetrics care. - Skills: - Knowledge of or eagerness to learn labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursing care essentials. - Understanding of sterile technique and infection control principles. - Technical proficiency in mother/infant care. - Ability to excel in high-stress situations. - Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals. - Working Environment: - Full-time position requiring 36 hours per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. - May require shift rotation based on staffing and census needs. - On-call responsibilities are required.
