Grant AccountantOur growing nonprofit organization in Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join our finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of grant funded programs that directly support our mission and community impact.If you enjoy working in a purpose-driven environment, attention to detail, and thrive in managing complex grant reporting requirements, we'd love to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and manage grant budgets, expenditures, and funding allocationsPrepare grant-related financial reports for federal, state, local, and private funding sourcesEnsure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and regulatory requirementsReconcile grant activity and maintain accurate supporting documentationPartner with program managers to review budgets, spending trends, and funding utilizationTrack restricted and unrestricted funding in accordance with nonprofit accounting standardsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for grant-funded programsSupport annual audits and provide required documentation related to grants and funding sourcesReview reimbursement requests and prepare drawdowns as neededMaintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting best practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organizationExperience managing grants, fund accounting, or government-funded programsStrong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principlesAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelExperience with accounting software and nonprofit financial systems preferredExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
