Enterprise Tableau Account Director, State and Local Gov

Account Director, Tableau Local Gov The Enterprise Business team focuses on working with exciting existing and growing organizations in the local government space supporting the northeastern half of the US. Applications will be accepted until 08/09/2026. This role will be posted for 30 days starting on 08/09/2026. Day to Day Responsibilities Engage with existing customers and new leads to sell the entire Tableau platform. Build positive, trusted relationships with key team members and C‑suite decision makers within assigned accounts. Drive analytics discussions and identify use cases within accounts. Develop opportunities through warm leads and whitespace prospecting. Develop key customer stakeholder relationships and drive customer satisfaction. Assist with the development and execution of overall long‑term strategy for the account, aligned to customer business objectives. Coordinate internal resources (product support, customer success, sales engineering) to meet customer business needs. Assist with account planning, coordinating with other sales resources to ensure strategic alignment. Manage complex sales cycles and present the value proposition of Tableau platform to C‑level executives. Define and complete territory/account sales plans for assigned territory and exceed sales goals (quotas) through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing opportunities. Develop and manage a sales pipeline, prospect and assess sales, and move multiple transactions simultaneously through the pipeline. Required Experience 7+ years of quota‑carrying software or technology sales and account management experience; ideally focused on large enterprise K‑12 accounts. Experience working within a matrixed environment with various partners (Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Sales Leaders, Executives, etc.). Highly driven individual with a focus on execution, strong sense of urgency, and a belief in the Tableau mission. Business curiosity combined with technical ability to address customer data challenges and earn trust. Solution‑selling mentality: develop a plan and solution, articulate value, and navigate customer complexities to drive revenue. Preferred Experience Experience selling in the software industry or technical sales experience (e.g., SaaS). Experience with analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, or business intelligence. Education Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.).
