President and Chief Executive Officer

The client seeks a President and Chief Executive Officer to serve as the most senior executive and provide spiritual, programmatic, and operational leadership. Working in partnership with the Board, the CEO will guide the organization in fulfilling its purpose, ensuring operational and programmatic excellence, cultural coherence, and meaningful external engagement and influence. The role is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The CEO serves as the primary point of communication between the Board and staff and holds an ex-officio position with the Board. The CEO is expected to partner closely with the Board in leading the organization and to support a collaborative “deep engagement” model that reflects both practical and spiritual approaches to governance, including time commitment, personal and collective spiritual growth, and modeling ongoing individual and collective spiritual journey and transformation for staff. The CEO will help steward the organization’s long-term vision and mission through shared leadership, generative sensemaking, and horizon-focused thinking. The CEO will lead a shift from planning to action by convening, learning, and modeling across the organization, helping activate the strategy with a learning mindset. Responsibilities will typically include advancing nuanced evaluation and analysis to support implementation and continuous improvement. The organization is seeking leadership to build coalitions, act boldly, and fuel imagination while balancing increased attention to the broader world with sustained internal grounding.
