Senior Actuarial Analyst

This role is Detroit Hybrid preferred; however, remote option possible. The Senior Actuarial Analyst is responsible for developing and supporting a robust reserving framework at Ally Insurance. The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be expected to independently lead projects from start to finish. This includes brainstorming, accurately executing advanced analytics, and effectively communicating results to Management and Senior Leadership. This role will have high visibility to Leadership and future advancement opportunities. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership, communication, and technical skills. Programming skills a must. SQL/R/Python preferred.

The work itself includes supporting a reserving framework for insurance business, including both standard actuarial techniques and advanced modeling; leading, developing, and communicating advanced analytics to Management and Senior Leadership; fostering innovation within the team and across the broader organization; working collaboratively as a part of the product development, pricing, and/or reserving processes; developing reserve indications, producing reserve ranges, and performing advanced analytics; and supporting development of themselves and other associates in an actuarial capacity and according to Ally vision and mission statement.

The skills you bring include ACAS or near ACAS preferred; 5 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams required; 4+ years of experience in actuarial or data science roles; exposure to advanced ratemaking and/or reserving a plus; strong communication and relationship building skills; programming skills in R required (SQL useful); ability to adapt to change and adjust priorities quickly, as necessary and appropriate; high level of problem solving and critical thinking capabilities; well-organized and detail-oriented; highly motivated and self-directed; minimum of Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field; and must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.

Base Pay Range: $85000 - $150000 USD An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
