Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of general nursing care utilizing the nursing process, either directly or through delegation to supervised staff members. This position involves comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of nursing services provided to patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including fluid and respiratory therapies.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet patient goals.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, and disease processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and observations.
• Assist in orientation and ongoing education of new staff members.
• Promote a positive work environment and efficient patient care through effective leadership.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures in all nursing activities.
• Respond to emergency situations with appropriate judgment and action.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current registration as a licensed nurse in the State of South Dakota.
• Current CPR certification.
• Able to obtain ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire.
• TNCC certification for solo Emergency Room coverage within six months of hire.
