The Payroll Specialist will oversee and supervise payroll and benefit functions. This role ensures pay and benefits are processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. They will oversee workflows and optimizes technology related to payroll, benefits, and HR data while maintaining responsibility for accurate and current data in the company's HRIS platform.

What You'll Do…

• Manage full-cycle processing of bi-weekly payroll for 250+ employees.
• Provide accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Manage all new-hire onboarding activities, including submitting IT setup requests, coordinating new-hire scheduling and communications, completing I-9 and E-Verify requirements, and serving as a resource for new employees regarding payroll, benefits, and other onboarding-related questions
• Manage all employee offboarding activities, including submitting termination requests to IT, uploading resignation documentation to the employee's profile, coordinating termination dates on the Employee Shared Movement calendar, updating the employee's status in HRIS, and ensuring all required offboarding processes are completed accurately and timely.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries on payroll and benefits and provide excellent customer service, ensuring all payroll errors are handled timely and professionally.

What You Need to Succeed…

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience with multi-state payroll required.
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes required.
• Knowledge of Real Estate and property management industries preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Proficiency with payroll software, Paylocity experience preferred but not required.
• CPP license/certificate preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and results-driven professional who leads by example.
• Ability to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information.
• Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and up-to-date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation is required.
