Make a meaningful difference each day by supporting elementary students as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the Dover area. This contract opportunity is perfect for a dedicated professional seeking to advocate for children with speech and language challenges, working alongside educators and families to develop young learners' communication skills.

Your expertise will serve a caseload of approximately 55 elementary students throughout the 2022-2023 school year. Using your skills in articulation, phonology, voice, fluency, and language, you’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to academic and social success.

What You'll Do:

  • Evaluate students for eligibility in areas including articulation/phonology, abnormal voice, fluency, and language.
  • Conduct annual IEP reviews, initial and re-evaluations, documenting progress and updating goals.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, supporting students’ communication needs in school settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents, providing methods and strategies for dealing with communicative differences and supporting successful educational transitions.
  • Maintain thorough records of therapy, progress, and communication with stakeholders.
  • May provide supervision to clinical fellows when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Active Delaware State license (or eligibility to obtain prior to assignment).
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates considered.
  • Experience in pediatric or school-based speech therapy strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
