Apple's foundational technologies help developers build, grow, and scale apps and app marketplaces — including programming languages and development tools that make it easy to build apps for Apple's ecosystem, specialized software development kits with over 250,000 APIs, beta testing services and feedback programs, distribution via marketplaces and web, and so much more. You will lead the team managing and growing the business that enables developers to access these platforms and technologies.As the Director of Business Management for Marketplace Platforms, you will work alongside cross-functional partners such as finance, product, developer relations, operations, legal, compliance, and PR to oversee Apple's marketplace platforms strategy and business development, including the Core Technology Commission (CTC) and alternative app distribution on iOS and iPadOS in supported markets.ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategy to manage and grow alternative distribution and the Core Technology Commission business in the European Union, Japan, and Brazil.Identify new market trends, uncover business opportunities, and engage with key partners to propose and lead strategic initiatives to grow the business.Leverage data analytics, reporting, and market research to understand impact of product, policy, business model enhancements and translate them into insights that inform decision making and new strategies.Represent the business and provide developer insights to continuously improve the alternative distribution experience with product, engineering, and design.Oversee business planning, analysis and forecasting, and marketplace business development and developer engagement for alternative distribution and the CTC.Serve as a key partner in the development of business, developer and user experience policies for the portfolio in partnership with Product, Legal, and Government Affairs.Lead go-to-market strategy for new product and feature launches related to alternative distribution, including support of outbound communication efforts such as launch collateral, developer documentation, and research papers.Inform executive leadership of business performance and progress on strategic initiatives.Minimum Qualifications15+ years of experience in a senior role leading a global business and/or product organization for a software platform, online marketplace, digital service, content platform, or mobile e-commerce product, including meeting regulatory compliance obligationsBA/BS or equivalent; JD/MBA degree a plusPreferred QualificationsSignificant experience driving revenue growth and market development from the ground upExperience engaging effectively with C-suite executives, including handling high stakes decisions with ease, delivering effective presentations, influencing decision-makers to adopt a recommendationAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $296,400 and $473,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
