About the Opportunity

We are seeking motivated Freight Sales Executives with experience selling full truckload (FTL) brokerage services directly to shippers. These opportunities are suited to professionals who enjoy developing new business, building customer relationships, and creating transportation solutions.

Depending on the company, you may have access to brokerage services, asset-based capacity, account management support, and other transportation and logistics capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Identify and develop relationships with shippers that need full truckload transportation services.
• Prospect for new business through outreach, referrals, networking, and other sales activities.
• Understand customers’ freight needs and recommend solutions that align with their operations.
• Prepare quotes and proposals in coordination with pricing, operations, or carrier teams.
• Negotiate rates and service terms while considering customer needs and profitability.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers and sales opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations and account management teams to support customer relationships.
• Track sales activity, revenue, gross profit, and other performance metrics.
• Grow existing accounts and identify opportunities to expand services.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience selling full truckload freight brokerage services.
• Experience selling transportation or logistics solutions directly to shippers.
• A demonstrated ability to prospect, develop new business, and manage customer relationships.
• Understanding of freight pricing, margins, and the truckload transportation market.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid arrangement in the Chicago area, depending on the opportunity.

Additional Experience That May Be Valuable

• An established network of shipper relationships or a book of business.
• Experience selling additional transportation services, such as LTL, dedicated transportation, warehousing, or asset-based capacity.
• Experience in a freight brokerage, 3PL, or asset-based transportation environment.
• Experience managing a sales pipeline and tracking revenue or gross profit.
• A book of business may be preferred or required for some opportunities, but requirements vary by client.

Compensation

Base salaries generally range from $70,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and the position. Commission plans, benefits, and other compensation details vary by client and will be discussed during the recruiting process.
