The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of Authority Garage Supply which is a garage door wholesale company, ensuring efficient processes and alignment with strategic business objectives. This role will lead and develop a team of branch managers across multiple locations, drive supply chain and logistics efficiency, and partner with key departments, including sales and customer service, to support growth and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations management, proven leadership skills, and the ability to enhance operational performance across all branches. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned) Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies to streamline processes, reduce costs, and support overall business goals. Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across branches to ensure operational consistency and continuous improvement. Provide oversight on the supply chain process, from procurement to inventory and distribution, to ensure timely product availability. Branch Management and Leadership Development: Lead and mentor branch managers, setting clear expectations and providing regular coaching to ensure consistent operations across locations. Conduct performance reviews and establish individual development plans for branch managers to foster growth and enhance leadership capabilities. Establish standardized operational procedures and ensure adherence across all branches for consistency and quality. Supply Chain and Logistics Optimization: Oversee supply chain and logistics management to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Collaborate with vendors to maintain optimal stock levels and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms. Work with branch managers to forecast demand, minimize stock‑outs, and ensure timely delivery to customers. Process Improvement and Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and increase productivity across branches, using data‑driven analysis to inform improvements. Drive and implement scalable systems and best practices that enhance operational effectiveness as the company grows. Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in operations. Develop and manage the operations budget, with a focus on cost control and maximizing profitability across all branches. Track and report on key financial metrics, including expenses, inventory turnover, and shipping costs. Partner with finance and executive teams to align operational initiatives with the company’s financial objectives. Customer Service and Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction are met at every branch location. Work closely with branch managers and the customer service team to address and resolve customer issues, ensuring a consistent, positive experience across all regions. Implement quality control procedures and standards to minimize errors and uphold service excellence. Other Requirements / Skills (Education, Software, Hardware, Etc.) Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in operations management, with multi‑location oversight preferred, ideally in a wholesale, manufacturing, or distribution environment. Demonstrated experience in logistics, inventory management, supply chain, and branch operations. Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing high‑performing teams and building effective leaders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working cross‑functionally. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to various branch locations for oversight, team development, and operational assessments. Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed to support branch operations. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary to support business needs. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience in the construction materials or home improvement industries. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for warehouse environments. Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications are a plus.
