Junior Sous Chef for River Ships with USA clientele About the company Grand Circle Corporation is the largest U.S. provider of international vacations for Americans aged 50 and older. What sets GCC as an industry leader in travel and discovery are small group sizes, unsurpassed value and excellence and unique itineraries covered under three brands: Grand Circle Cruise Line, Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel. About the job Responsible for delivering an exceptional gastronomic service for our travelers in accordance with Grand Circle Cruise Line (GCCL) standards, while contributing to a positive work environment. Responsibilities: • preparing daily meals in accordance with menu cycle • responsible for organizing “mise en place”, appropriate storage, and keeping of goods • responsible for hygiene in the galley in accordance with HACCP regulations • actively supporting and assisting culinary and restaurant team • relieving Executive Sous Chef during his/her absence • any other duties advised by Executive Chef/Hotel Manager Skills/Qualifications: • culinary school diploma or basic education equivalent is preferred • minimum 2 years of experience in the field of desired position, preferably on passenger ship or in a 4 or 5 star restaurant and/or hotel • cruise ship experience is a plus • good communication skills • willingness to learn and progress • fluency in English • eligibility to work in EUWhat we offer: • Compensation o Competitive Gross monthly salary: 2.810 – 4.500 EUR • Benefits o Paid vacation o Private medical insurance coverage o Malta social security contributions in accordance with applicable regulations o Travel allowance o Bonuses based on seniority, performance and internal pay structure o Tips customarily provided by U.S. travelers o Complimentary onboard meals and accommodation o Unlimited onboard internet access o Free shore excursions and opportunities to explore destinations o Special discounts in the onboard shop o Access to gym and wellness facilities o 50% discount on onboard massages o Laundry service for uniforms and personal clothing Place of work: European Union KLASA: UP/I-342-35/09-01/58 URBROJ: 530-03-2-1-2-13-7
