Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Manager in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounts payable operations, expense management, and financial reporting within a fast-paced investment management environment. This role will oversee the full AP lifecycle across multiple entities, manage payment processing and vendor relationships, and partner closely with finance leadership on reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements. The position offers the opportunity to drive operational efficiencies, enhance controls, and support ongoing automation initiatives across the accounting function.
Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Manager:
- Accounts Payable Oversight: Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process across corporate entities and investment-related operations.
- Vendor Management: Oversee vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment approvals, and responses to vendor inquiries.
- Payment Processing: Execute ACH, wire, and expense reimbursement payments while ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare reconciliations, expense allocations, invoicing, and reporting for finance leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, 1099 reporting, and audit requests.
- Process Improvement: Enhance AP procedures, strengthen internal controls, and support automation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 5-15 years of accounts payable or accounting operations experience within financial services or a related industry is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, expense allocations, and multi-entity financial operations is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with accounts payable systems, ERP platforms, Excel, and online banking tools is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment are required.
