Accounts Payable Manager

Client: Retail/CPG Organization Role: Accounts Payable Manager Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 annually + Bonus & Benefits Location: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid – 4 days a week onsite) Operational Leadership & Execution End-to-End AP Management : Direct the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice ingestion, payment processing, vendor master data maintenance, and employee expense reimbursements. Payment Strategy : Review and authorize multi‑channel payment runs (ACH, Wire, Check, Credit Card), ensuring all disbursements meet internal approval standards. Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Partner with Procurement and Operations to streamline the 3‑way match process and resolve discrepancies in pricing, quantity, or shipping. Relationship Management : Proactively monitor AP aging reports to maintain healthy vendor relationships and prevent service disruptions or late fees. Strategic Optimization & Systems Process Innovation : Identify and implement automation opportunities – such as OCR technology and automated workflows – to scale the AP function through your ERP. Workflow Standardization : Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive AP policies and manuals to ensure consistency across the organization. Cash Flow Partnership : Collaborate with Finance & Accounting leadership to forecast cash disbursement timing and support overall liquidity planning. Compliance, Controls & Reporting Financial Integrity : Maintain a rigorous internal control environment to prevent fraud and ensure accuracy of all financial data. Regulatory Compliance : Oversee vendor onboarding requirements, including W‑9 collection and execution of annual 1099 reporting. Closing & Audit Support : Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities for AP and accrued expenses. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding AP schedules and inquiries.
