Collections Specialist

LHH is partnering with a leading global law firm to identify a Collections Specialist to support a high-volume, complex book of business tied to a newly onboarded partner. This role blends billing operations, client account management, and collections into a single, senior-level position.

This individual will serve as a key point of contact for billing and accounts operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across the full billing lifecycle. The role requires strong collaboration with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders, along with the ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end legal billing, including time review, pre-bills, edits, and final invoice processing
  
  
• Partner with attorneys (timekeepers) to ensure accurate time entry and billing compliance
  
  
• Oversee complex, high-value client accounts with significant billing volume
  
  
• Support monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
  
  
• Handle client account administration, including onboarding support and account maintenance
  
  
• Drive collections efforts: follow up on outstanding invoices, manage payment processing, and resolve billing disputes
  
  
• Maintain strong client relationships while ensuring timely cash flow and adherence to billing guidelines
  
  
• Collaborate with internal teams (e-billing, finance, leadership) to optimize processes and resolve issues
  
  
• Act as a go-to resource for billing questions and troubleshooting across assigned accounts
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience in legal billing within a law firm environment (Am Law preferred)
  
  
• Strong understanding of billing systems (e.g., Aderant, Elite, or similar ERP tools)
  
  
• Proven ability to manage complex books of business and high-volume billing
  
  
• Experience with collections and client account management in a professional services setting
  
  
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
  
  
• Consistent work history demonstrating reliability and tenure
