Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Services, Peri-Anesthesia (Pre-Op/PACU)

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Per-Diem | Days | 8-Hour Shifts

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, patient-centered peri-operative care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) for patients across the lifespan. Provides direct and indirect care in Pre-Op and PACU settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect peri-operative care in Pre-Op and PACU settings
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and post-anesthesia recovery monitoring
• Monitor airway, hemodynamic status, pain control, and level of consciousness
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate patient care and direct OR Technicians and support staff
• Ensure safe patient flow across the peri-operative continuum
• Maintain compliance with AORN, Joint Commission, and hospital standards
• Participate in performance improvement, unit meetings, and education
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff and team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License. 2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 4. Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 5. Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training 6. Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred 7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $49.16 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
