Technical Stage Staff The Technical Stage Staff (STAT) operates the spotlight, sound equipment, and scenery and curtain cables during rehearsals and performances. He/she works closely with Stage and Production Managers to determine the type of sets, props, and equipment required for specific events. The STAT may also assemble and disassemble equipment for shows and functions. The STAT will be given additional responsibilities if assigned to ships with ice-skating rinks. Responsibilities Operate spotlight, sound equipment, scenery and curtain cables during rehearsals and performances, working with Stage and Production Managers to determine required sets, props, and equipment. Assemble and disassemble equipment for shows and functions. Take on additional responsibilities if assigned to ships with ice-skating rinks (as applicable). Qualifications Previous experience in a similar role is required. Knowledge of all aspects of stage production. Ability to perform minor theatrical repair work is preferred.
