Job Description

About the Department

Our Emergency Department is a Level II Trauma Center serving a diverse and high-acuity patient population. Our team manages a fast-paced environment with a broad range of emergency conditions, including trauma, medical emergencies, behavioral health, and complex patients requiring rapid assessment and intervention.

SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7am - 730pm, every third weekend and rotating holidays. 

LOCATION:  Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. You'll utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while effectively communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Your role is vital in ensuring patient goals are met and solutions are implemented when variances occur.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families.
• Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
• Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

What You Will Need

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
