Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

In this full-time contract role, you’ll lead a self-contained Autism classroom in a supportive, school-based setting near Woodford, VA. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP, aligning with both state standards and unique student goals
• Apply evidence-based teaching strategies for students on the Autism Spectrum
• Implement and monitor positive behavior interventions, supports, and comprehensive behavior intervention plans
• Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, school psychologists, and additional specialized staff to ensure holistic student support
• Supervise paraprofessionals and guide best practices within the classroom
• Maintain accurate and timely compliance documentation while using data to monitor student progress
• Promote communication, social skills, self-regulation, and independence for all students
• Sustain an organized, structured classroom that prioritizes student safety, engagement, and growth

Essential Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Virginia Special Education Teaching License or be eligible for licensure
• Demonstrated experience creating and executing IEPs
• Strong knowledge of special education documentation and compliance
• Excellent classroom management and behavioral support capabilities
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with families

Preferred Background:

• Prior experience working in self-contained Autism classrooms
• Familiarity with ABA, visual schedules, social stories, and alternative communication systems
• Experience supporting students with significant communication, cognitive, and/or behavioral needs
• Training in crisis prevention or de-escalation techniques
