Tech - Cytotechnologist

Job Summary:
Perform cytological examinations and assessments to aid in the diagnosis of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens. Ensure specimen quality and accuracy through screening and preparation, supporting diagnostic processes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze GYN and non-GYN specimens, applying cytology screening procedures.
• Process Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA) and conduct immediate adequacy assessments.
• Prepare cytology slides and specimens for microscopic evaluation, adhering to lab protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of specimen data and pathology reports.
• Follow all safety and regulatory standards, including NYS licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with laboratory team to ensure quality control and timely specimen processing.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor of Science degree with ASCP Registry certification or Certified Cytology School Degree.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in cytology screening and specimen assessment.
• Familiarity with Bethesda System for Cytology reporting.
• Certified in ThinPrep technology.
• Hold a valid NYS Cytotechnologist license.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cytology laboratory procedures and specimen handling.
