Site Operations Associate

The Site Operations Associate is a front-line, fully on-site position that helps keep Elati Village safe, clean, welcoming, and operational 24 hours a day. The role combines daily site coverage, resident support, safety response, documentation, and coordination with team members and partners. Approximately 30% of work time is dedicated to facilities and janitorial support, including scheduled cleaning, sanitation, supply management, unit turnover support, routine site inspections, and coordination of maintenance needs. The remaining time focuses on site operations, member engagement, safety, and program responsibilities in alignment with Denver Office of Housing Stability (HOST) standards.

Core Accountabilities:

• Maintain a consistent, visible on-site presence and support reliable coverage of the front desk, gate, shared spaces, and other assigned areas.
• Monitor site access, welcome members and approved visitors, respond to routine questions, and reinforce community agreements and site procedures consistently and respectfully.
• Complete and document shift handoffs, site rounds, safety checks, unit checks, incident reports, and other operational logs accurately and on time.
• Coordinate daily operational activities such as meal distribution, deliveries, mail, supply distribution, community-space access, and partner visits.
• Respond to urgent situations using trauma-informed de-escalation, crisis prevention, emergency procedures, and timely communication with on-call leadership or emergency services when appropriate.
• Help maintain a physically and psychologically safe environment with strong attention to accountability, confidentiality, food safety, and HOST Shelter Program Standards.

Facilities and Janitorial Support:

• Perform scheduled cleaning and sanitation of restrooms, offices, community rooms, kitchen and meal areas, laundry areas, and other shared indoor and outdoor spaces; remove trash and recycling and restock supplies.
• Support unit turnover by cleaning and preparing vacant units, removing approved items, documenting unit condition, and helping ensure units are ready for occupancy.
• Complete routine facilities and grounds checks; identify safety hazards, damage, pest concerns, or equipment problems; submit or communicate work orders; and follow through on urgent needs.
• Perform minor, non-licensed maintenance within training and organizational guidelines, and provide site access or coordination support for facilities staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain organized inventories of cleaning, hygiene, safety, and operating supplies; receive and store deliveries; and support seasonal site upkeep and weather-related readiness.

Member Support and Documentation:

• Use cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and a low-barrier approach when engaging members. Support orientations and intakes, explain community agreements, and help members navigate daily site routines.
• Coordinate with case managers and community partners, make appropriate resource connections, participate in team meetings, and support member goals without duplicating case-management responsibilities.
• Complete required program documentation and data entry and perform other duties as assigned to support safe, continuous site operations.

Requirements:

• Experience in shelter operations, hospitality, custodial work, facilities support, community services, or a related setting is preferred.
• Lived experience of homelessness, housing instability, or poverty is valued.
• Willingness and ability to complete routine cleaning, sanitation, trash removal, unit-turnover, and supply-restocking duties using required personal protective equipment and safety procedures.
• Comfort using basic hand tools and performing minor, non-licensed maintenance tasks, or willingness to learn within established safety and training guidelines.
• Ability to remain active for much of a shift and to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or carry up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, boundary-setting, and de-escalation skills, with a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations.
• Ability to complete electronic logs and documentation and to work a schedule that may include evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays in a 24-hour program.
