Senior Tax Accountant Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our public accounting team. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, providing tax planning and compliance services, and working closely with clients across a variety of industries. This position will have significant client interaction and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility within the firm. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and other entities. Prepare complex tax workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation. Perform tax research and analyze federal, state, and local tax issues. Assist clients with tax planning, compliance, and consulting opportunities. Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential tax risks for clients. Review tax returns and workpapers prepared by staff accountants for accuracy and completeness. Manage multiple client engagements and ensure deadlines are met. Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve questions, and provide updates on tax matters. Assist with federal, state, and local tax notices, audits, and examinations. Research and interpret changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards. Assist Managers and Partners with complex tax projects and client advisory engagements. Provide guidance and technical support to Staff Accountants and less-experienced team members. Develop and maintain strong client relationships. Participate in process improvement initiatives and other firm projects as needed.
