Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable (AP). This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented who can handle high-volume processing, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely payment cycles. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and entry into the accounting system. Manage weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers. Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly. Maintain AP files, purchase orders, and payment documentation. Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting. Support the accounting team with data entry, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance as needed. Communicate with vendors and internal departments to ensure smooth AP operations. Assist with audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting support. Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice management, and basic accounting principles. Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle). Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
