Mortgage CloserThe Mortgage Closer is a senior clerical position within the Mortgage Division. This position will be responsible for preparing and sending mortgage closing documents to attorney. This position will also review and approve HUD-1 settlement statements and/or closing disclosures and fund loans.Location listed is preferred office location but other locations within the Renasant footprint may be considered based upon convenience and business necessity.Renasant Bank is an equal opportunity employer.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate mortgage loan closings with closing agents, loan originators, and loan processors for correspondent/wholesale lenders and retail lendersPrepare mortgage closing packages, per closing instructions, and send to closing attorney with funds (if applicable) prior to closingReview and approve HUD-1 and HUD-1A's for closing and/or closing disclosures for closingCalculate APR and issue final TIL when applicablePrepare funding worksheet to calculate net funded wireWire funds to closing agent or correspondent bank as needed to fund or purchase a loanRun tickets to clear funding (if applicable)After loan closing, finalize loan in a timely manner in preparation for the post closing departmentWork with loan underwriters, processors, and post closing on any outstanding conditions to be clearedPromote and maintains good public relations with customers, realtors, and attorneysPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 2 years job related experienceAbility to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Word and ExcelWorking knowledge of loan documentation and bank terminologyMust have working knowledge of RESPA and TILA regulationsBasic knowledge of AccountingAbility to deal tactfully and effectively with customers as well as fellow employeesGood organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently within deadlinesAbility to read, understand, and adhere to internal and governmental policies and proceduresAbility to learn and utilize all necessary computer applicationsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
