Executive Medical Director - Neuroscience Clinical Development - Toxins

AbbVie seeks an Executive Medical Director to lead clinical development programs in neuroscience, overseeing trial design, execution, and regulatory strategy. The role involves managing cross-functional teams, ensuring study integrity, and serving as an in-house clinical expert for assigned molecules and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and oversight of multiple complex clinical development programs
• Monitor study integrity and review accumulating safety and efficacy data for assigned protocols
• Manage clinical study teams and coordinate enrollment and timelines with Clinical Operations
• Design, analyze, interpret, and report scientific content of protocols and regulatory submissions
• Serve as clinical expert and opinion leader for disease areas; represent AbbVie at external meetings

Requirements

• M.D., D.O., or non-US equivalent with relevant therapeutic specialty
• Residency completion strongly preferred; subspecialty fellowship desirable
• Minimum 5 years clinical trial experience in pharma, academia, or equivalent (7 years preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex clinical research programs
• Proven leadership and cross-functional team management skills
• Extensive knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
