Manager, Payroll Operations

Becton Dickinson seeks a Manager of Payroll Operations to oversee multi-state payroll processing across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The role involves leading a centralized payroll team, managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and driving operational efficiencies through best practices and technology.

Responsibilities

• Partner with offshore team to ensure successful completion of payroll tasks and resolve complex payroll issues
• Prepare and communicate payroll policy changes to client groups and team members
• Oversee process improvements for accurate and efficient payroll processing, tax reporting, and compliance
• Serve as internal expert on North American payroll, tax withholding, benefits, and labor law compliance
• Provide coaching and leadership to team members and outsourced partners to achieve business results

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent payroll operations experience
• 5+ years managing multi-entity and multi-country payroll
• Working knowledge of payroll regulations, compensable income, fringe benefits, and stock vesting
• Experience navigating vendor relationships and Service Level Agreements with payroll providers
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
