Interim Head of Global Payroll

Our client, a public technology company, is seeking an Interim Director of Global Payroll to provide leadership and oversight for its payroll function during a temporary leave coverage period. 

• Provide leadership and oversight for domestic and international payroll operations
• Manage and support a distributed payroll team while ensuring continuity of payroll processes and service levels
• Partner with Finance, HR, and external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
• Oversee payroll accounting activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with accounting policies
• Review and improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation to ensure operational efficiency and compliance
• Support payroll-related audits, reporting requirements, and special projects as needed
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues and cross-functional initiatives

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading and managing payroll teams in a mid-sized or large organization
• Strong payroll accounting experience and understanding of payroll-related controls and compliance requirements
• Experience overseeing multi-region or global payroll operations
• Experience with Workday, NetSuite, or similar enterprise systems
• Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment
