Work Environment

This full-time position is primarily onsite, with the unique work setting of providing care directly in the homes of our patients throughout Saint Petersburg. As a physical therapist at Agile, you will work closely with patients in a relaxed setting, making therapy an integral part of their daily routines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patient needs and develop tailored treatment plans that align with the referring physician's orders.
• Implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions, utilizing a range of techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and the use of assistive devices as needed.
• Monitor and modify treatment programs based on ongoing assessments of patient progress and recovery goals.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their caregivers regarding home exercises, proper body mechanics, and lifestyle changes to support overall wellness.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Engage with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimize patient outcomes.
• Contribute to meeting organizational goals through excellent customer service, timely communication, and adherence to performance metrics.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on treating a diverse range of patients in their own homes. This includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, children with developmental delays, adults dealing with neurologic conditions like stroke or Parkinson's disease, and athletes needing rehabilitation after sports injuries. By offering therapy in a familiar environment, you can observe firsthand how daily activities impact their rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, such as APTA or CAPTE-approved institutions.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Florida, with a commitment to ongoing professional education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to build rapport with patients and effectively communicate treatment ideas.
• Computer competency, including back-office EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• A passion for helping others and the ability to create meaningful relationships with your patients, fostering their rehabilitation journey.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working as a physical therapist in a home healthcare or community setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with implementing evidence-based treatment strategies across various physical therapy specialties.
• Experience consulting and educating patients on self-care techniques and home exercise programs.
