PT -Temp- Substitute Driver (Albuquerque)

Job Title

Required qualifications:

• Defensive Driver Certification (provided by NMSD upon hiring)
• Current NM Driver's License
• Fluent in ASL (preferred)

Duties:

• Transport students to and from school in a safe and timely manner
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection on vehicle
• Follow all NMSD policies regarding student transportation and vehicle use
• Obey all traffic laws
• Report any vehicle issues to the Transportation Coordinator
• Check roster for required car or booster seats
• Be responsible for route papers, keys, and gas card, must sign for these items
• Ensure students have all of their property including hearing aid/cochlear implants
• Be responsible for safekeeping of student medicine and giving to nurse and parents/guardians
• Be aware of student behavior at all times
• Report all student misbehavior in writing before end of shift
• Notify dispatcher when you arrive at each destination, when you pick up, who you picked up/need to have parent sign for student-drop of and mark here on roster when you pick up student.
• Read special instructions on route document for student needs
• Clean vehicle interior and windows after every use
• Fill up vehicle with gas after you drop of students
• Ensure all windows are closed and vehicle is locked
• Abide NMSD policies at all times
