Digital Senior Development Engineer

Role Description

We are seeking a Digital Senior Development Engineer with deep experience in functional and automation testing. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Playwright, Cypress, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and is comfortable designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites—including API/integration tests and end-to-end tests—using modern JavaScript frameworks. Experience applying agentic AI tools to accelerate and improve testing workflows is a strong plus.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web and mobile applications using Playwright, Selenium, and Cypress for functional, end-to-end, and regression testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to ensure high-quality releases.
• Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Conduct cross-browser and responsive UI testing to ensure a consistent user experience across platforms and devices.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, stability, and execution efficiency.
• Ensure testing complies with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and other applicable standards.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.) with clear quality gates.
• Ensure test traceability, coverage visibility, and alignment with release processes.
• Leverage agentic AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate test authoring, self-healing test maintenance, and defect analysis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software testing experience.
• 3+ years of relevant automation testing experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on development with JavaScript-based automation frameworks, including Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Jasmine, or Protractor.
• 4+ years of experience with API automation and REST API testing using Postman and RestAssured.
• Proven experience creating and maintaining test scripts, along with custom-designed testing tools and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with BDD/Cucumber for QA delivery.
• Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to generate, refactor, and debug test code and to streamline QA workflows.

Requirements

• Experience in Pharmacy, Clinical Systems, or other healthcare domains.
• Experience working within an Engineering Center of Excellence (tools and processes).
• Strong team player who takes ownership and communicates effectively.
• Working knowledge of the healthcare domain is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and strategic critical-thinking skills.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering or building AI-assisted test automation pipelines.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High school diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $92,700.00 - $203,940.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
