Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our growing team. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable operations, performing cash matching and reconciliations, and maintaining the accuracy of our NetSuite ERP system throughout the month-end close process. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. They will be comfortable working independently, collaborating across departments, and leveraging technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes. Reports to: Head of Finance Employment: Full-Time | Location: Jersey City, NJ (~3 days/week) Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 Key Responsibilities Process AP invoices using Bill.com; manage vendor payments and proper GL classification; yearend 1099 processing Prepare journal entries and complete month-end close on schedule Perform bank and credit card account reconciliations Perform AR cash matching and reconciliation; investigate discrepancies and follow up on receivables Utilize NetSuite ERP for transaction entry, reporting, and data integrity Prepare and review corporate reporting package Engage with external audit and tax professionals Document activities and maintain compliance with internal controls Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience required Experience as a Staff Accountant or in a comparable accounting role within the financial services sector a plus Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting, including income statements, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cashflow statements Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and data analysis Strong PowerPoint skills Familiarity with Claude AI platform CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA license preferred Experience with general ledger accounting, subsidiary ledgers, bank reconciliations, invoice processing, and month-end/year-end close processes What We're Looking For Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet month-end deadlines Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential financial information Why You'll Love Working Here Y ou’ll be a part of a team of experienced professionals who value collaboration and exceptional service who continue to make a meaningful impact within the market.
