Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Your responsibilities will include direct and indirect instructional support for students with disabilities, always fostering an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere. You’ll use tailored teaching approaches—ranging from phonics to multisensory learning—to nurture growth in areas like language, cognition, memory, and social skills. This position focuses on Resource Room environments, allowing you to provide targeted interventions and adapt the core curriculum with evidence-based strategies and assistive technologies.

Success in this contract role means collaborating closely with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to ensure each student’s needs are met and all relevant regulations are followed. Implementing IEP goals, supporting social development, and maintaining comprehensive documentation are key aspects of the work.

What You Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education plus a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate per MDE guidelines, or Bachelor’s with current enrollment in a state-approved teacher certification program
• Preferred: Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA) endorsements
• Classroom teaching experience, especially in similar educational settings, is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt instruction and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
