Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Multiple contract positions are available for Special Education Teachers to support students across elementary and high school settings. Set within welcoming resource rooms, these roles focus on providing instructional support to learners with diverse needs. The contract runs from August 31, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek, located onsite at various school sites.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education with a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, or
• Bachelor’s degree with current enrollment in a Michigan Department of Education-approved certification program
• Preferred: Experience teaching in resource room or comparable school settings
• Preferred endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA)
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes and implementation

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies to support academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Utilize multisensory and differentiated instruction techniques—such as phonics and guided repetition—to address varied learning needs
• Support students’ development of sensory, perceptual, language, and cognitive skills
• Modify general education curriculum and integrate assistive technology as needed to ensure access and progress
• Implement IEP goals and positive behavior support plans
• Collaborate actively with classroom teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student success
• Maintain detailed documentation to ensure compliance with special education requirements
