Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As a Special Education Teacher working onsite, you'll provide thoughtful and dynamic instruction to learners with a wide range of unique abilities, fostering both academic progress and personal growth.

In this role, you'll:

• Deliver direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities, championing their success in an inclusive environment
• Employ specialized teaching strategies tailored to the development of sensory, motor, language, cognitive, and memory skills
• Use evidence-based instructional methods—including phonics, multisensory learning, and repetition—to address a wide variety of learning needs
• Implement IEP goals and teach socially appropriate behaviors using positive behavioral interventions
• Adapt the general education curriculum with assistive technologies and proven modifications to ensure effective access and participation
• Plan engaging lessons balancing direct instruction, guided practice, and student independence
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, administration, and families to facilitate student achievement and regulatory compliance

Ideal applicants will bring:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or be enrolled in a state-approved program recognized by the Michigan Department of Education)
• (Preferred) Prior experience teaching in a similar school setting, particularly within special education
• (Preferred) Endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA)
• Passion for inclusive education, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a school team

Start date is August 31, 2026, continuing through June 10, 2027, at 37.5 hours per week with several positions available within elementary and high school buildings.
